Masterpiece Academy Final
This course was so different from all of my classes that I have had so far but it was really good. I learned a lot in this course I never thought that by having a blog and writing in my journal everyday I would learn something new. I feel like we all deserve it because it a different and new way of teaching some people in the class didn’t take advantage or didn’t even care but I personally did take advantage of this course. I feel like some people did honor this course and they would take is somewhere and talk to other teachers about this course because the way that this course was with the blogs is not a common in public school even though we have all of the technology. The people that actually posted on their blog were people that honored and took advantage of this course also the people who would take the time to actually write on their journals about the journal topics everyday.
During this course the journals helped we out a lot with my writing some days I would write half a page but then there would be some days that I wouldn't understand the journal topic that i wouldn't even write half a page but only a few sentences. The days that I wouldn't know what to write I would just choose my own topic or what would just be on my mind. I felt like that helped me a lot because I could just let everything out in my journal and just write what would be on my mind. My favorite types of topic to write on my journal would be “Choose your own topic.” I would just write about what I did the day before of in the morning or even sometimes what was on my mind and I just wanted to let it all out on my journal. In the beginning of the year I was actually reading everyday and then I just stopped I had to much homework that I wouldn’t have time to read. Throughout the year the only books that I actually read were the ones from the course because they were really interesting and I learned something from each of them.
I feel like this course has helped me understand so many things and I feel like somethings I will use in the future. My goal is to become a teacher and I am gonna use some things that we used in this course. One thing that I will actually use are the journals because you could just write what is on your mind. I Will continue my learning with the blog. I will post in my blog once in awhile about what I am or will be doing in the future or just some other things that would help out some people that would look at my blog in the future. My passion is helping other people and I will help your future students by posting on my blog so they can see an example of a blog and so they won't think that this course is impossible to complete because this course is different but in a good way because I feel like young people learn better this way.
This course was serious but sometimes it was really funny. Sometimes some journals would be so funny that I would just laugh and people in my group would think that I was crazy but it was funny. Some masterpiece academy presentations were funny. Some riddles that we had to solve for some of them were so funny that it made the whole class laugh including me. There would also be sometimes when you would say a joke. I think that it was in April when you were telling a story and everyone believed it when it was actually all fake and it was all a joke. It made the whole class laugh including me.
In all of the masterpiece presentations I only found one that was very similar to mine and I found it really interesting. The one who presented the presentation was Jose Luis and his Masterpiece Question was “Why can’t everyone get along?” In his presentation he said that it is just a habit and some people just don’t get along with each other. He said that it is also depending on their perspective and they way they were raised by their parents or treated in their family. There is always going to be conflict it is a part of human nature. My Question was “Why do people fight and why can’t they control their anger?” Both of the topics were very similar.
For my masterpiece question I did not have a mentor. I just asked my family and friends for their opinion and why they thought people fought. Most of them had a really good answer and I added that to my presentation which I presented during the Masterpiece Academy. This is not where I am gonna end my research I am actually going to continue researching and just find a complete answer to my question because I really want to know why people fight.

THE DIGITAL DIVIDE

So I have never put so much time into the thought of technology. I have so many questions now "Is our information secure? Is there anything such as something private?" I have so many questions and I want to know some answers.  I feel like technology helps me out with everything I do and it will help me succeed but my view on technology is different now.

IGNITE TALK

Why do people fight and why can't they control their anger? The reason that I chose this big question was because sometimes I don't understand people some just fight cause they want to or because they have something against the person. During these next days I will be looking up information and trying to figure out why this happens because I haven't really put some time to think about it. In many books there is always a conflict and I could connect this to Fahrenheit 451 because there was a lot of conflict with books, I am going to keep on thinking about this topic and put in more effort to know why people fight.

Fahrenheit 451 Essay

Fahrenheit 451 was a book that was so interesting in the way it was put together and how mostly everything that they said was true. Book were not legal and nobody was a able to read or have one. One of the main characters is Montag he is the protagonist of this story. Montag is a fireman and he is a third generation one because his dad and grandpa were firemen. Bradbury decided that this story was going to take place in California during the 1950's. Most of the things that were predicted for the future is actually happening during this time and I think that it a very important past in the book.

Ray Bradbury describes Clarisse as a good person in the book. Even though she was a good person the author described her death really bad. Clarisse is a young person she is a good wife. She is a good person who knows what is going and is aware of everything surrounding her and everything that she is doing.  She was a very good person who wanted o help protect the books she also gave Montag a book. She was a person who didn't liked reading books but loved them so much. She gave Montag a book and changed his mind about books so he ended loving them too and enjoying them.

The author describes Beatty as a bad person in the book. Beatty is a fireman who was curious about the books. The author put and described Beatty as a bad person. Even though Montag and him had a good relationship and they got along so well. Toward the end of the boo he ends up dying because of books.

In conclusion Bradbury described Clarisse and Beatty as different people. Both of them had the same thought about book and both of them loved them. The author put them different and had different opinions about them.

WHAT I SEE IN LITERATURE

Imagery: visually descriptive or figurative language, especially in literally work

Imagery in "The Great Gatsby":

  • "The light grow brighter as the earth lurches away from the sun, and now the orchestra is playing yellow cocktail music, and the opera of voices pitches a key higher." This is an example of imagery in the setting.
  • "This is a valley of ashes- a fantastic farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens; where ashes take the forms of houses and chimneys and risking smoke and, finally, with a transcendent effort, of men who dimly and already crumbling through the powdery air." This is another example of imagery in The Great Gatsby.
  • "She was in the middle thirties, and faintly stout, but she carried her surplus flesh sensuously as some women can. Her face.....contained not facet or gleam of beauty but there was an immediately perceptible vitality about her as if the nerves as her body were continually smoldering." This is an example of imagery with the characters.

"Love Song" Summary

This poem sound really dramatic in some parts but in some parts it doesn't sound dramatic at all. I think that the author is trying to give and send a message about love and about another topic which is being dramatic. The poem is about a women and the poem ends with a part about a mermaid.

CAN WE WATCH THE MOVIE?

The ,movie was really easy. We stopped in a  part where the movie was getting really interesting. The way the book described the characters were the same way as I imagined them. The only character that I imagined very different was Nick. But the movie and the book are very similar.

THE BACKGROUND OF MY BIG QUESTION

My Big Question is Why do people fight and why can't they control their anger? I am interested in this question because some people want to solve all problems with fighting. Some people can't just have a normal conversation without fighting. I am sure that I am not the only person who want to know that answer to this big question.

MUSIC AS LITERATURE

I think that music and be considered as literature. A song always has a message and sometimes it is told as a story or from the authors past. A novel is a story that has a theme and a message. A poem is a writing that rhymes and has a message. A rap is a type of music that that has a message and is very fast. A song has music and it always has a message. Opera is with different instruments.
